right rear end bed cap on 71'

my rr bed cap is pretty rough and instead of attempting a pull/repair ive been contemplating the notion of removing the bed cap, is this an easy job(perhaps a sawsall?)what does it take to remove and can another one be mounted/welded on fairly easy??
