O.K. I understand the Ranger package, but for the custom cab- why would someone order a custom cab but keep the manual brakes and steering? Wouldn't that be something you would want, or am I just blowing smoke out my rear  ?

Keep in mind that these trucks were ordered by people 30 years ago, and power brakes and steering were just getting installed in light-duty trucks, and a lot of folks didn't see the need for the new 'fancy-schmancy' upgrades. "More things to go wrong and repair", right? ;) A majority of these trucks were simply workhorses to their new owners, and they liked to keep 'em simple.

You got a point there. I'm not complaining. I kinda like it that way. Brakes work better on the 69 than my 98 burban!! Darn thing has ABS-or as I call it "Anti-Braking System"
