brake booster ?

Post by shortbedCUSTOM »

just picked up this booster at a swap meet last weekend. It came off a '71 and I want to put it on my '70. one question though, what is the hole in the front for? is it for the vacuum line, and if so, how does the hose stay in there?

Yes, that is where the vacuum hose goes. A plastic elbow is inserted into the hole and is held in place and sealed by the rubber grommet. The vacuum hose goes from the engine to this elbow. I'm at work right now or I'd post a pic of one for you.

The elbow, and grommet should be available at your local parts store for less than $10.

The elbow fitting has a built-in check valve.

These are about $10 new, depending on where you go.

I'm guessing one will work off almost anything, they all look to be about the same.
