I have one I could practice on. I guess I'll see what works best on that one.

try the oils one your hand see if you can rub some of it off.. then try your fingernail to scrap with. some goof off might work but it is probably some sort of thinner that takes off all paint.

i have always re-used the same rivets, but i do know you can buy them.i would be careful removing paint from a tag with strong solvents or cleaners.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

I soaked the tag in paint thinner over night and nothing. Acetone works but removes the ink underneath also. I tryed some sort of non-acetone nail polish remover my wife has and that didn't work either. I'm surprised the paint didn't soak up the thinner. I'm not sure what to try next, any ideas?

Don't feel bad john I put an offer on some carb jets and he at first acted like he was doing me a HUGE favor.

I asked a question, he sent a reply and I did what he asked.

I then stated I would take a pair for his price but wanted to confirm that they would fit my application.

His reply was to say that I didn't do the research for him and that he wanted full price.

I told him I would think about it.

Still thinking.

Also found a set from another source, even though they are higher I am gonna buy from them since the customer support was about a BILLION time better.

I guess this guy has a reputation. And not a good one. At least I'm not being singled out. I have only a few transactions on e-bay, so I was wondering if that is why he was busting my b@ll$. I can prolly get the rivets anywhere. What I need to do is, get the paint off the tag first.
