Sorry about your luck. Hope it gets better for you. I don't know about there but I have priced rebuilt short blocks here for as low as 400 bucks. Maybe that would help.

Thanks marine, (My and my families thanks to you!) The motor's rebuilt already and running and if I can sort out a driveline noise and get/do a brake job I'll start up on the Glisten again.
Thanks for the assist though.

302 with some minor mods. By the way I did my growin up in Temple right up the road from you. I've always considered myself an honorary Texan, but I was born in IN and have lived most of the rest of my life here.

AYE, Be proud, everyone wishes they were from Texas at some time or another
I just took a 302 out of my 69. It was out of a speed boat and had an oversized cam and 351 heads. I just put a 351W out of a 76 Torino with less than 10,000 original miles on it.

Eye, honorary Texan status. If you lived in Texas, have it in your heart and drive a bump, a 69 Ranger no less, I'm sold.

Thanks guys, If weren' t for family I'd figure out a way to get back there.
One of the great things about the school system there was we had an entire class in high school on Texas history. And all of the local middle schools were named after the Alamo heroes:
I went to Bonham, and there was also Travis middle.
...man, where's a bottle of Lone Star when you need it.
