As I was sittin' on the throne this afternoon and reading through my vast collection of car magazines, I happened to be sifting through the 12/02 issue of Car Craft and ran across an excellent article about Ford automatic transmissions, including the various flavors of factory overdrives. Although the article is a few years old, it still contains some very useful information, so I thought I'd transcribe and post it here. One of the main reasons I decided to do so was the number of overdrive-related questions that's been posted lately, so I felt this would be a great primer course for folks researching their options.
