I take it you know for sure that the battery is dead? ie: the truck wont start/wiper motor wont turn/ect.
then yes, if its that dead I'm pretty sure the current draw of the headlights would cause the turn signals/4 ways to not work right.

You saw the effects of not enough current. Current will always take the path of least resistance. Starters are not the path of least resistance but when they draw or attempt to draw what they need everything else will lose the battle due to the windings sucking up every drop in order to work.

The headlights are the brightest object so when on at 12.5 volts they draw the most current because the resistance is lowest through the headlight filament. They draw 5.6 Amps (if they are standard lamps) for both and if nothing else turns on then that means the battery has 5.6 or less amps left in it.

Yup! that did it recharged the battery and all is working again now to figure out the led thin as appearantly they don't draw enough to work as turn signals/brake lights with 2 or more on the same circuit.
