its the same in that area yes. the dash is the most different part about the cab. the only other thing i can think of is where the seat belt holes are located at in both roofs but if you dont cut down that far you wouldn't have to worry about that.

The outer roof skin should be the same. There are dozens of minor differences in the cabs every year. No two years are exactly the same. I plan to replace the cab roof skin on my '70 F-250 4x4 the next time I paint it. I cut a perfect roof off a '72 and cut the inner cab wall out of a '70. I figure to do it right the inner cab wall will have to be destroyed in order to spot weld the new roof in place. It will be an interesting project.

I'd Actualy advocate just swapping in the 72 Cab as a whole and just upgrade the heater system to the sliders instead of pull tabs.

your 67 doors should bolt right where your 72 doors do. so you could still keep the 67 style doors. And your vin is on the doors so only you and the very knowledgable connesuier would know of the cab difference.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

I'm not so sure I want the interior of a 72 in my 67. I like the pull type heater controls, among other things.

I've seen plenty of hot rod chopped tops. Could chopping and swapping roofs be that difficult?
-Remove both front & rear glass as well as doors.
-Weld in some support bracing to keep everything square.
-Measure, measure, measure... and then measure again.
-Cut off old roof
-Weld new roof.

However, I've never taken on such a big metal project before. Maybe I'm over simplifying things. Has anyone actually taken this approach in replacing a rusty roof before? If yes, do you have any tips, advice, pitfalls you could send my way?

I've never done it myself, but I've seen it done like you describe. There is this local Russian discount automotive facility (chop shop) that I've got some amazing deals on parts through. They always have wrecked late model trucks that they're rebuilding to sell. I bought an engine from them recently and they were cutting the roof and cab back off one truck and preparing a rolled truck to accept it. They lopped it at the window pillars and where the floor meets the back wall. It just really strikes you as odd when you see something like that and the truck they're cutting the roof off of looks to be in pristine, showroom condition. HMMM.

I completely understand why you'd want to keep your '67 cab though. I would fix the cab on my '70 no matter how bad it was.
