I think the 67-69 are different from the 70-72 the way they hold the bulb

ok i got to doing some research on htis but i didn't get any pics. the buckets for the 73-78 trucks with round headlights are almost the same. as our years the only difference is that the chrome rings are solid mounted to the headlight buckets. so you have to remove the entire chrome ring and screws to replace a headlight. you can't just loosen the screws and twist the chrome ring to get it off. as far as the cores go they are identical except for the holes cut in them. they will fit and work fine with our trucks in my opinion. the one i looked at was a 78 with the grill removed but the square headlights still in place. the headlight bucket brackets bolt to the core and to the grill.

After comparing the buckets the differance in the 67-69 and the 70-72 is the slots that hold the bulb. The bulb will be upside down if you use the wrong bucket. But they look like they can be redone to work alright, I'm getting ready to try on my 71.

i couldn't tell any difference between the 67-69 and the 70-72 buckets. the slots on the 73-78 are different though just like TIM P said. they hold the heldlight at a differntly. the three tab holes for the headlight sit at a different postion than our years do. i am planning on updating this as soon as my new camera gets here friday. i will post pics and show the differences that i can see. i thought it might be some good info for the site.

I just bought a nice set off of a 69 for my 71 and the slots are the only difference, and they are 180° off.

Thats what I thought as I tryed to replace my buckets using 68 yr and the headlights are upside down this does mess with the way the lights are aimed ahead and shine path on the road, now im not sure about the 73-79 yrs as to there orientation in the buckets.

Here is a picture of the two buckets the left one is a 69, the right one is a 71. Both buckets are Right Hand buckets and turned the same way, the writing is on what would be the bottom of the bucket.
