Recently, my 2000 Dodge Intrepid's engine started knocking... a rod. Since an engine replacement was going to cost around $6500, I used this opportunity to convince my wife I should purchase an older truck and drive it, instead of buying a new car. She agreed, although she is nervous about the gas price. She was thrilled with the insurance cost, though.

The truck I just purchased is a '67 F100 Camper Special. This truck has a 352 and is in complete running condition. The engine was recently overhauled (about 2 years ago, but very few miles), so I hopefully will not have to do much to clean it up. Researching the VIN and other numbers provided tells me:
- This truck was built with with a 352-V8
- This truck was built in March of '67 in San Jose, CA
- The original color is "Frost Turquoise"
- The interior was "Med. Blue/Dark Blue"
- It was a "Camper Special Custom Cab"
- The seat was a "woven plastic bench seat"
- The transmission is "Cruise-o-matic 3-Spd Automatic"
Anyhow, I grew up around my grandparent's farm. My grandpa had a '68 F100, although I believe it was really a '67 because it was a CS (looks just like mine, including color). It also had the '67 style door locks. That's the truck I learned to drive in. Later, I had a '73 F100 while in high school, but my parents made me get rid of it because "it wasn't safe".
As of tomorrow, it will be in transit from a location far from me. Should take it about 10 days to get here. My intent is to use this truck as a daily driver while fixing it up over time. The immediate things I would be willing to put money on would be power steering, power brakes, brighter lights, and anything that improves gas mileage!

Anyhow, here's a picture for 'ya. If anyone is from Southern IN or Louisville, KY area, give me a shout... I could use some advice/help!

You can see a few more shots in the gallery... got one of the engine, interior, and driver's side. There are a few others, but I'm not going to post them until I can blur the license plate.
