Boxwood green spray paint

Post by flyboy2610 »

Does anyone know where I can get Boxwood green spray paint? I have one door to do and don't really want to hassle with having it done professionally.
I don't have the equipment or room for a spray booth set up.
Thanks in advance.

I think most auto body supply stores can make you a spray can of it.
I got a spray can of New Lime to do my firewall. I had to buy a pint and they filled a spray can and I have the rest. A pint will make about 4 spray cans.

You can also spray it out in the back yard if you live in town with a roll around compressor and paint gun. I have painted lots of cars out in the yard. Some of my cleanest jobs were done just after a rain in the front yard belive it or not. Very little dust floating around after it rains heheheheheheheh :2cents:

Try these guys midwestautopaint.com I've used them before and have been pleased with their product and price. Just give them your paint code information and they'll send you what you need.

Update:
I went to my favorite auto parts house. I took the truck with me because they have a scanner. I also took the color code sheet from the '69 VIN section on this site. Their best paint expert couldn't match it.
The scanner wouldn't "take" when they tried to color match it, and they sell PPG paint, but not Martin Senour paint, which is what the color code sheet has the codes for.
He suggested I try NAPA. I asked him which was the closest one that could do it. He told me the only one that can do it is the one at 35th and Cornhusker. That's not too far from where I live. (This auto parts store is on the other side of town.)
It was on the way over there that "I think I broke my truck" (see Engine section.)
So I get over to NAPA, praying my engine won't seize, and take the color code sheet inside. I talk to the guy who does the paint, and gave him the sheet. I told him I had the truck with me if he needed to scan it. He said "No, I don't have one of those scanners, but I have the code here, so I can make your spray paint. Turns out I could have left the truck at home! :x
Anyway, they made me four cans of spray paint, and I gotta say:
They NAILED it! :D :D
Heres a picture where I have painted PART of the area below the door striker. You can't tell where the old was, and the new begins!
If you need spray paint in the original Ford colors, go to NAPA! They do it!
Each can cost me $10.50, so it's a bit pricey, but it's worth it!

The door seals are going to be replaced when I do the interior, and the truck will be repainted

Now that's timing! Now that my truck is mobile again I was wondering how I could spruce up the inside before I go to rust prevention mode on the outside. I also have boxwood green and REALLY appreciate your legwork flyboy. NAPA here I come!
