THANKS sooo much to everyone at this sight. I did not expect the HUGE responses I got!! Thank you for your kind words of appreciation and bits of advice about my truck. I'm probably a bit crazy, but already bought the truck and having a shipper bring it to my door for $1100. I'm not interested at doing a FULL restoration ( don't have the time, experience, or tools needed). I have always wanted to try working on an old car with my Grandad and look forward to having fun and learning a little bit. I don't really even know how to weld much at this point!! I hope to get this veh running fairly well by patching up the old engine and then patching up the rust spots and putting a few new parts in it. Not looking to make money on it, as much as I'm looking for a good winter project to have fun and spend some time with my Grandad who has worked on cars his whole life. A little rust adds character (in my opinion) and I'd be proud to drive it anywhere even as it looks now...hahahha.. thanks again guys for the advice.... i know i'll be back here often. AND if this doesn't turn out well.... at least I'll learn from my mistakes, right!??!

Welcome home and to Fordification! Thank you for protecting us and helping the people of Iraq.I think you will be alright in getting the truck running and driving it the way it is.The most IMPORTANT thing is that you are spending time with your grandad!!! I wish mine were still here to do so.He was my best friend.

Hi Jason and Welcome from Connecticut.

I don't know since I am newbie myself, but are there any other members in the New England area?

If not, does two people qualify for a New England Meet and Greet?

Welcome, Jason, and Semper Fi! (USMC, '83-'87) :D
Your truck looks ok to me, especially for $300. You'll be suprised at how much difference getting a hood, any hood on it will make! Click on my link to see mine in the gallery-it was $560 off E-bay, but I drove down to Texas and picked it up on a trailer pulled by my buddy's Chebby! Last time I plan to embarrass her like that again, but it got her home at least. Thanks for your service, and late Happy 231st Marine Corps Birthday! 8)

Hi and :wel: from Okla and remember :fr: . Well at least this way if you did find a really nice truck whit this one you could drive it in the winter. Then save the really good one from the road salt that has a very bad effect on a car or truck.
