Rear cab mount
Has anybody had to repair the rear cab mount yet? I've seen posts on the front mounts but not the rear. Got to looking at mine and it looks like the rubber mount is going thru the floor. Help!

re: Rear cab mount
I cut and bent some pieces of steel to span out the wieght on the back of my crew as they are decaying also and started cracking up the back of the cab and in the seams. Just a temp fix till I get another cab done for it.

re: Rear cab mount
I think I've parted out more than a dozen trucks over the past few years and none of them ever had any rust at all in the rear cab mounts. There aren't any patch panels available for this area, since they typically don't rust out there, so you're on your own fabricating some.
Are you sure it's the metal that gave way and not just some collapsed rubber bushings?

re: Rear cab mount
This weekend I am going to pull out the seat and gas tank for a inside inspection, but from under the truck it looks like the rubber mount is going thru a rusthole in the floor ![Crying ](./images/smilies/icon_cry.gif)

re: Rear cab mount
Its just a idea but i think i would get a piece of channel iron to go over the factory steel. Get it long enough to go all the way across as one piece. Set it in place and set the cab down on it then drill holes in it for the bolts. If you wanted to then use a joint and seam sealer to seal it to keep it from rusting out further. Kin of like how polygrip holds dentures. I know this sounds cheesy for a fix but you cant get patch parts that thick either. IMO i would use 1/4 inch this would be 100 times stronger than it ever was before.

re: Rear cab mount
Thanks for the feedback guys,I should have apart by sunday night but it's starting to look like a complete floor replacament. Rust is the enemy. Thanks for the offer Fordman, I definitely will let you know about the patch panel.
If it's got rust & smoke it WILL make you BROKE

hey fordman if he bites on the rear half i'd take the front half. Maybe if he dosen't bite depending on the whole cab. I Had one lined up but don't think i could get it moved before the deadline.
Maybe i still can But having another cab or a spare floor would be nice.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~
