...are they all aluminium or are the painted ones steel? i'd hate to buy a set of shiney ones just to paint them white. i'm asking because all the ones i see in the catalogs are "bright aluminium".

That's because most folks buying them want to use the polished aluminum...few folks wanna go 'back to basics' and put a painted grille assembly on.

As far as I know the steel door aren't being reproduced, you'd have to find a set here on the forums or in a junkyard.

Once in a while the steal one's come on ebay, even in NOS form. Nobody buys them though. . So you may have some luck there.

ok thanks. there's no way i'm spending big bucks on a chrome grille and doors when i have a perfectly good painted grille. i just need the doors.
