what is this thing?

Post by Fake Name »

There is a wire running from the constant + post on the starter solenoid. It's dark, probably black, and runs on it's onw, past the set of connectors on the RF inner fender, through the firewall and to a small rectangular box, about 1"x3/4 with two threaded terminals. The wire goes to one of the terminals, and another wire goes to the other terminal and disappears into the harness.

What's the little box?

I looked on the schematic thoughtfully provided by Keith, but it does not show up...

thanks.

Probably the in line circuit breaker to power the relay that runs the exterior cab lights or camper special side lights. It should be in back of or to the right of the glove box. The relay might be right next to it.

So thats what makes the really loud "click" noise when i turn on my marker lights. :)
I figured there was something there for those marker lights on the cab.

Thanks, guys!

It looks like I can remove that without consequences- I have no plans for marker lights and would love to eliminate another + tie-in on that solenoid post.

When/if you decide to remove that, please try to remove it completely intact, without cutting any wires. I'd be interested in getting that from you. :D
