Core Support Troubles

Post by Dropped 68 »

Ok were working on swapping the core support on my buddy's 68 Ranger.
Keith's info has been very helpful, but there's one snag I've ran into. Keith, I don't know if you ever figured out the rest or if anyone else has, but.
The parking light assemblys/ wiring harness hit the '79 core support. and cause the bottom of the grille to stick out about an inch at bottom. I suppose I could use a hole saw and cut a couple holes for the lights to clear. But I'm wondering if there's a better way? Thanks in advance.

you might have to cut a hole. i think the 77 wiring is routed up around where the regulator is. i might be wrong though.

There should already be a hole on each side, right where the inner fender hooks onto the radiator support, specifically for the wiring. Here's a shot of mine (ignore the dust and waterspots) ;)
