Fellas,
Something keeps running my battery dead. The first time it ran dead I replaced it. The second time it ran dead and wouldn't crank I recharged the battery and replaced the alternator and regulator.
Now, a week after the most recent repair, it won't crank because the battery is drained again.
I can't imagine that there's any relationship here but the problem appeared about three weeks after I had the timing chain replaced.
Any suggestions on what may be the problem?
What keeps killing my battery???

Check to see if it is getting charged good.Put a voltage meter accross the battery while running and see if you get at least 13 volts. If it is getting charged, you might have something draining the battery.Unhook the battery negitive cable with the engine off and hook a test light between the cable and the battery.if it lights up,you have a draw. You will need to start to disconnect things to see what is draining it.

look for a wire shorted out near where they worked on the timing chain. My guess is they pinched a wire and its shorting out, and draining the battery.
other than that, hook up the test light and start pulling fuses. that should tell you what circuit is causing the problem.

Some times it's amazing what you can find if you only look. Upon running my finger along the back side of the wire running from the solenoid to the alternator and regulator I found that it was definitely shorted out. Finally, a problem with an easy solution.
