bunch o questions
ok, I cracked the block on my 390 fe and got it sleeved. So now it is back in my truck but bein the newb that i am i didn't take pics of the wiring when i was doin the dissassembally. i looked at the wiring diagram on here and that didn't help any. if someone could help me out with pics or somthing thats easier to understand that would be great. also, i converted to the crane cams points conversion kit on my distributer. where do the two wires go? i can't figure that out either. i can do the mechanical work ok, its just the electrical that has me baffled so any help is good. thanks

there are three wires coming out of the center of the firewall that go to the coil oil and water colors are the way to tell what goes where. the alt if it got unhooked should lay back in place and hook up where they lay. mostly. the large terminal will go on ehte large post the other colors you will have to look at the chart or get a pic. if you can't tell. The new dist. it should have came with instructions.

white w/black stipe at the alternator should go on the stat(stator) Post, the orange and blue on the Feild and the big black one on the bat post should be the only post it'll fit. also depending on the year it may have a black w/orange stripe that is the ground to the volt reg.
at the firewall
red and green is the coil white or white and black should be oil and the other wire (can't remember color for my life goes to the Temp sensor on the manifold between the dist. and carb. Also they should just reach where they go with just a little slack.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~
