I used it under my entire roof, driprails, the cavities of my door jams, and every other nook and crany I could blow paint into including the cowl and under hood cavities.
It sprays like paint. Requires two coats. but covers pretty good.

The most popular choice around here is POR15 but Ive never used it. I was quite happy with the Rust Bullet. Wish I would have bought more.

I have a quart in the garage, but havent used it yet. I think for me it was a better deal than POR15.

I used it last month on the inside of my bed and selected areas of my frame. I also used POR 15 and Rust Encapsulator. The Rust bullet stuff went on real nice but I won't know if it or Por 15 are any good for another 5 years or so when I would expect to see rust.

Is it as hard as the POR-15 or is it more like paint to where it would chip easier? That POR is some tough stuff.

If you can spray it and it is as tuff as Por15, should be good stuff. I wouldn't want to spray por15, as hard as it is to get off your hands, can you imagine what would happen if it got in your lungs.
