Hello from Ok!
Hello all! I stumbled upon this site the other day while looking for ideas for my old 68 custom cab.
The truck currently sets beside my parents barn. My Gpa bought it new, then my dad got it, & whenever i get my dad to give in & let me fix it up, i will have it
It's white with the marronish red interior. Has a 360ci with a 4speed. From what i remember it has the "Granny Gear" 1st. It is 100% intact & 100% original. Its also 100% non power option (armstrong steering, crank windows, and sir-pumps-a lot brakes.) It has the Deluxe Gauge set.
It has dual saddle tanks, between the bed sides & frame. These tanks are no longer operational as the truck sat for over 2 decades.
About 8-9 years ago my dad had it fixed up to running condition in order to teach me how to drive. But he has since let it fall back into a dead state.
As it sets now, it needs a flat tire replaced, a new battery & gas to get going again.
---
I plan on keeping dual saddle tanks, but I'm going to upgrade to new plastic tanks & place them inside the frame rails.
Its going to get a new stereo, power steering, and power brakes w/ discs up front. I plan on keeping the original steering wheel even after power steering is installed.
The original seat has no tears, no busted springs, and is unfaded in color... so it will last for some time.
Paint is undecided I like Black, Red, Blue, & have seen a darker green I'm fond of as well.
I'm going to keep the bright sides, but ill have to get new ones... mine are near death... ones gone forever...
I'm going to Install a factory under-dash A/C unit if i can find a good one.
---
Anyway, thats my truck & plans. Hope to learn much from everyone on what i plan to do.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

re: Hello from Ok!
and from the Bixby area of Okla. We need to get together sometime. I may have a under dash unit for your truck as a friend has one that he is gonna use the power train for his 65. He said i could have whats left of the old truck when he gets what he needs off of it. So it wont have a motor tranny or rear end. Im gonna use the passenger door and fender for mine then list the rest to sell. Send me a e-mail and lets hook up since we are so close to each other.
