I want to change out my cab mounts this winter and work on the floorboards. Will I have to loosen the steering column to lift the cab enough
to install new cab mounts?
Thanks, Dave

re: loosen steering column to change cab mounts?
Definitely. Well, it's not mandatory....but you won't be able to raise the cab very much without disconnecting the column from the steering box. Otherwise you'll be putting a lot of strain on the rag joint and could easily rip it out....unless you bend the column first. Considering we're only talking about two bolts at the rag joint, one column clamp on the firewall and a couple bolts at the bottom of the dash, you should just consider it a given to do so IMO.

Yes I figured as much Keith but since I have never done this before I
need a little reassurance before I screw something up. You're right
there shouldn't be much trouble loosening the column.
Thanks for the quick reply, Dave
