tailgate

Post by mljjones67 »

Are all the tailgates for the 67 -72 the same? I found one off a 69 camper special that has been in a guys garage for about 15 years. I offered him $50.00 is that a good deal?

All styleside tailgates are the same and all flareside tailgates are the same. As long as it's not beat up and/or rusted out, I'd say $50 is a pretty good price. If it's been indoors that long, more than likely it's in very good shape. If it's NOS quality (or close to it) it'll be worth a lot more than that. You can get reproductions now, but they're just not the same....much lighter-weight steel. OEM is the way to go....sounds like you done good!

Here it is finally after a week of waiting. Not too bad of shape. Well anyone know how to remove the trim without ruining it? I am not using any trim except around the windshield. Trim seems in pretty good shape. If anyone wants the trim let me know

All I did on mine was put pressure either up or down and it came off the clips. THen drilled the clips out.
