Newby looking for info

I just bought a 72 f100 ranger short bed 2 wheel drive truck.

Questions
what is the biggest street type tire you can put on the front?
on what size wheel?
with what backspacing?
and same questions for the rear of the truck?

with pics would really help. trying to decide which wheels to buy, just picked up a pair of 275x60x15 grand am tires off craiglist to put on the rear.

I have 255/60/15 on 15x8 wheel standard spacing.
pics below Note engine/trans not in truck yet, thats why its sitting high in front. this tire size has been on this truck since 1970.
