Mirror Question

Post by got_no_clue »

OK, the wife is tired of me not having any mirrors on the '70 longbed. We both like the 80's (?) style rectangular chrome ones with the sideways "V" mount.

Since I don't think that these were originally available for the bumpsides, does anybody know if a later model will bolt up correctly, and if so, what years should I look for?

Thanks!

those were factory from 1980 up just make sure to use the solid squeeze nuts and not the caged ones. the solids will hold tighter. to makes them squeeze down just use a good long bolt ant a nut to jam with. works kinda like using a jam nut to make sure a bolt don't get loose. they make a special tool for setting the nuts but IMO to costly to use for a one time install. just screw the nut on the bolt then in the squeeze nut and put in hole and use 2 wrenches to operate holding the bolt and screwing the nut towards the off position this will smash them tight.

foggy :D
