6" Suspension lift for my 1967

Post by bigman78 »

Does anyone know of a company that makes a 6" lift kit for a 1967 Ford F-250 highboy 4wd?

If you do please tell me who and if they have a website.

I'm pretty sure Skyjacker makes some. I've heard that the ones for a 73 will work, but I don't know that to be true. Doug

Tallest box kit you will find is a 4in Skyjacker for the Highboys 67-77.5. otherwise a set of custom springs would be it. Also a popular mod to gain a few inches up front is building up on the front crossmember and locating the spring perches further down and extending the hangers further down on the rear of the front leafs. I have the 4in kit on my 70 crew, they ride well and looks proportioned with 35's.

Is it possible to get the 4" lift in and then add 2" blocks to it? Has anyone ever done this?

Blocks up front are a major NO NO and illegal most places. I know you can get whatever height springs from these guys but I don't know about their prices. http://www.customsuspension.com/ check out their galleries there are some highboys and lowboys pictured. I think another custom spring place is National spring http://www.nationalsprings.com/.

if yu go with springs, be prepared for a rougher ride, as the leaves have more arch in them, thus making it harder for them to flex. I owuld go with the skyjacker, and like 460 crew said, blocks up front are major nono, they can pop out when turning sharply and send you flying into a pole, or stump. the only time they should be used in a non streetable vehicle designed specifically for the mud. with little or no suspension flex needed.
