I'm in the research stage of doing one to mine. Any help would be appreciated.

I know keith has pictures of one with that style setup. There's a bumpside on ebay also, maybe you could try that as well.

yes there were a few pics and posts disucussing this idea earlier in the year. i haven't liked the way they cut the fenders to make it work though. i still am undiceded on how i would do the front fender. but the way i seen could be the only way it could be done. the one i seen was cut after the hood hinges and down into the wheel well area

I have come up with a way to slide the front end out before it tilts but I don't know if the bottom of the fenders would still hit and even if they didn't it would be hard to keep the fender/door gap where it needs to be I would think.

thats prety interesting how would you have it slide out would the hood and all come with it? would you just put it on tracks? maybe the cut point on the fenders could be lower so that the bottom of the fenders stay attached to the cab and not tilt at all. what about a way to keep the door from rubbing the fender when you open though. if it were to work the way i suggested.

The idea I had was for the whole front end hood, fender and all to slide forwar about 4-6 inches and then tilt forward. I would use rectangular tubing and polyurethane wheels to the slide and then the traditional hardened pin for the tilt. I'd use either linear actuators or screw jacks for the power. Like I said I'm just not sure if the bottom of the fender would hit the door when opened. If I had to cut it, I would just cut it in the traditional place from the corner of the cowl to the opening of the fender. I have the latch and everything worked out (in my head of course)

A couple of weeks ago at a swapmeet i saw one that had the split tilt front end. It was sharp. my friend took a pic with his camera phone I will see if he still has it.

That is the way I would go. I can't stand the thoughts of cutting steel fenders. Besides it would be so heavy and trying to deal with the inner fenders on our trucks. I wish they made that hood seperate for sale. I love that thing.
