hey guys, for anyone who just got a truck (like me when I first joined this forum), do yourself a favor and make sure one of the first things you check is your steering box connections. I just fixed my steering box and got the power steering running again. Well, the dangerous thing is for about 1.5 years, I've been driving this truck after I bought it from an idiot with ONE bolt holding the box to the truck when there should have been three.
Maybe I'm the idiot for buying such a poorly maintained truck...but I've learned a lot from this site/forum and I just wanted to pass that along. I'm afraid if I had driven that any longer, I could have lost control of my steering in the middle of the road. Just want to share that with anyone who's new to mechanics like I am...engine, brakes, coolant, and steering - very important!
