Drive shaft slip yoke seal

Post by frisky »

I am looking for the seal packing that goes at the front of the slip yoke to hold the grease back. I have not seen a store bought replacement.

Thanks

The trans mission is a C6, in a shortbed '71 F100.

When I took it apart, there was something under the screw-on cap that goes on the yoke to keep the grease in the splines. It looked like a hard fiber ring; Its a silly problem, just wondering if there is a part or a workaround someone else has come up with.

thanks.

bob.

oh your looking for the slip splene seal for a bolt on trans yoke right?
aka the slip joint is in the middle of the driveshaft no on the yoke right?

go to an arts and craft store and get some thick felt and cut a couple of rings of it out and voila...gasket (well technicly i believe its refered to as a dust seal...

hope that helps!
