Damn. Do those newer ones still have the framerails wayyy wide in the center of the car or is it narrower now? I parted out an 88 GM wagon and the frame was wide under the rockers in the center.

seen it done
I worked on a 78 that some one did that very same thing. It was a 80's model with the 5.0. I put a trailer hitch on. He drove it from NY to texas, said it rides great lika a car. Imagine that.

OK, here we go, no turning back now. LOL. It looks like it's gonna work out great. The mounting holes are pretty close and I only have to trim up a bit of the floor brace to clear the frame. Here are some pics...

Pretty darn close

Here you can see how low it sits, early estimates without the weight of the sheetmetal on it is about a 5-6 inch drop. Woohoo!!!

Now all I have to do is....everything!
Sorry about the quality of some of them, they're from my cell phone camera.

More
Last night I loosely bolted up the fender just to see what the stance was going to look like after I notched the floor brace and set the cab into the final position...

I am VERY pleased with the stance. I still have the original 15 inch rims on there now, I can't wait to see what the 18's are gonna look like. It also looks like I have plenty of clearance for steering. For some strange reason, I just can't seem to wipe the
