I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between the earlier tank senders like 59 64 to ours.
Can I use one in my 67?
I believe mine is dead because I can ground the lead to the unit and the gauge climbs as normal but if you hook it to the tank, Nothing.
I've tried grounding the unit thinking maybe it was a ground problem but still nothing.
Fuel sending unit ???

Sounds like mine did. If I grounded the lead, the gauge went to full. Turns out the brass float had a crack in it where attaches to the rod. Naturally, it filled with gas and it sunk to the bottom of the tank sending an empty tank signal to the gauge. If it is the float, there's a guy on ebay that sells them for $5 plus about $4 for shipping.

should tell you everything you need, mine was bad and the little wire in the unit was broken.

Ok,
I pulled the unit tonight and there is no resistance so I guess the rheostat in the unit is bad.
I was hoping the float had turned into a sink but it didnt, just my luck...
so I am looking for a sending unit.
Anybody got an extra?

I think someone on here is selling on with some ebay stuff IIRC, maybe Fordman.

Not sure if a member is bidding on it or not.
