Post by BigJack »

Is there a kit to move the manual transmission shifter from the steering column to the floor?

There's no kit I know of but all you do is buy an aftermarket shifter and install it and then you'll have to replace the shifter column sleeve with one from a manual tranny.

There are kits out ther but it puts the shifter right into you right hip, and up against the seat. Hurst, and Mr. gasket sell them but I have know idea who really makes them.

I've got the Hurst shifter too. The reach is a little longer, but the shift is much easier.

My opinion keep the column shifter and replace the solid rod with a cable shifter you will thank yourself for this mod. Did it on my truck and liked the results. See the pics in my gallery of it installed.
If at first you don't succeed. Get another beer.

Jeremy, I have a C6 Auto with a Column Shift. Are you talking about replacing the Rod that connects on the steering column with the Transmission Gear selector with a Cable? I Like that idea. Is there a Kit for it?
