body seams
whats the best way to get rust out of the body seams? and stripping the paint/primer in them. Im talking about the seams around the body line and all that, and the vertical seams at the rear of the bed. best way to remove the rust completely so i can weld it up and not worry about it.

re: body seams
Keith is welding his bed, so he should be able to give you a answer on that. I haven't made it that far yet on my bed.

re: body seams
I used a wire brush, Dremel tool and various wire attachments on a grinder and a 3/8" drill motor. I also used sand paper folded to fit in the groove and, of course, lots of compressed air. I think I did a pretty good job but it was a lot of work and I was not certain I got it all.

What I'm going to do is use this cup blaster I got then come back with a wire wheel and then either weld it up or seam seal it.

Some Ford expert bodyman told me this
1/ sandblast the seams
2/ apply rust mort and let sit for at least 24 hours
3/another LIGHT sandblast
4/apply chromite primer
5/you can then apply the seam sealer
This guy is really in the know and guarantees this procedure. I like the seams, retains the originality of the truck
This is what I plan to do with the annoying rust in the seams.....stay tuned

A cup blaster is the same thing as a spot blaster. It looks like a gravity feed spray gun, but instead of paint, you get sand. Sometimes, there will be a cone extending out from th gun around the nosel of the gun. This is so you can place the gun up to the surface of the thing you want to spray, hit the trigger and the sand won't go everywhere.
