paint problem on my 05...

Post by layedout72 »

Alright, at one point it was raining everyday for a good month it seemed, so I didnt wash my car. Now it has like what seems to be "permanant" water spots all over the car. I tried to get a pic, maybe you cna make it out, maybe not. You can only see it from certain angles in the sun light. I will try to get a better pic in the morning with the sun out and all.

Any help is appreciated. Look around the flash, you can see it a little bit.

Clay bar it, if that doesn't get it out it will need a pretty rough polishing.

If the clay bar dont work try a black foam pad and finessit from 3M. Its basiclly a swirl mark remover and is white in color. the black pad is a finishing pad for polishing. I use this at a med speed. Apply this in a polka dot style then take the polisher and rub the pad over this without it running to spread it . This way you have less splatter to clean up.

Clay bar kit is $15 at most auto parts stores, wouldn't hurt to try it on a spot.

My little brother had this problem with his 06 black GT. I know he was recommended some type of wax for right after he washed it and after the 2nd application the spots were gone. I'll get back with a product name.

Sounds like a pollen problem that can only be removed with polishing like everyone said. I know where I park my car I get a sticky film on my car and the rain leaves the same marks. IMO. John

My brother had picked up the Meguiars car wash and conditioner and one of their waxes as leadfoot suggested. His paint is all cleared up after 2 washes and a waxing.
