Anybody know a good kingpin shop in North Texas/DFW?

Post by SportCustom »

I got my full frontend kit from PST and need to have the kingpins installed but have no idea where to start. I am in Frisco/Plano area and need a good shop to do the kingpin install.

Thanks,

Replacing kingpins is really a pretty basic job that any machine shop can easily handle. All they have to do is press out the old kingpin, press in the new bushings and ream them out to the correct size, and then pop the new kingpins in.

Just take your I-beam/spindle combos down to the machine shop with your parts and they should be able to handle it for you.

If you haven't found a shop yet, there is a place in Garland (Garland Road and Kingsley) named Garland Safety Lane (972) 278-7202. The place is an "old school" type shop .... I took my I-beams to them to have the kingpins changed out.

I called Garland Safety Line and he wanted $250 to replace the kingpins.....does that sound right? Seems kinda pricey to me. And thats using my parts.

Seriously? I paid them $60 to remove the old kingpin, ream the bushings, and install the new kingpins. Are your i-beams still in the truck?

The old kingpins were still in mine...I took the I-beams, with spindles attached. However, I did remove the old brake parts from them.
