Rebuilding price question.

Post by rjewkes »

Is 600-900.00 good? It includes total rebuild New pump new bands and Clutches And everything else a c4 needs plus a flush and newTorque Converter. As well as removal instalation and towing to the shop.

And he will let me make payments too.

I would think $600 is on the high end. A tranny rebuilder told me my 3/4 ton GMC Suburban 4x4 4L80E trans would cost $800 to rebuild and it's a big old bear.

That's not a bad price. It cost me $1200 to have the AXOD-E in my Taurus rebuilt. Course, the internals were pretty fried. :(

My C6 rebuild was right under 600 and that was with some new parts but overall still in good shape just full of aluminum shavings. Price included a new torque converter. I pulled it and reinstalled it myself. I'd say with a tow and them doing all the work anything staying under 1000 is a good deal. But here in Vegas I'm just used to being overcharged for everything. :2cents:

Well, Hes coming to take her to the shop tommorrow. He'll have it done in three days.

Take me 20 or thirty to pay it off but its worth it to me. 99% of the rust on this truck is on removable/replaceable pannels.

Sounds about average if he's removing and reinstalling. I'm used to paying around 400-500 for a rebuild on a carry in. And I'm sure it all varies depending on what part of the country you look at.

***UPDATE***

The trans is done. Unfortunately with no brakes and only being able to give him 100.00 a week keeps me from bringing her home. Turned out cuase all the internals where heavily damaged(P.O. did a lot of hotrodding) And the cooling lines where rubber , to be 955.65.

I payed him 100 on mon. so it is down to 855.65 He will wait however long it takes as long as i get him 100.00 a week. No storage fee
