after being scared so long i finaly decided to look under the cab of the truck to see how much rust was on it.....and i as scared to find.....

so i was wondering what is the item rusted away in picture one...

Well, the rust on your truck is pretty much typical of these trucks, in regards to where the tend to rust out. The item in the first picture is the cab support which runs between the rocker panels. You can buy weld-in patch pieces to repair the rusted ends of that support.

your rust although typical seams minimal compared to my old 72. hopefully my next one has no rust.

Like keith said you can get the patch pieces but that apron looks worse than mine. I fabricated a piece with rolled steel and cut out the bad and put in the new. But that apron may have to be replaced easier. I have a similar problem with the cab corner but the piece I ordered will replace all that is shown on yours. John
