Those are by far the uglyest beds ever made IMO. There's a 67 4x4 LWB step driving around here.

If it was made in '67 it's an F100. The F150 wasn't introduced until much later.
A salvage yard would be the place to go for a bed. I don't know of any one who makes them.

I've seen a few of the LWB step sides.. all of the ones I've seen though are retired forest service trucks, and have been well used (abused)

Man, sometime when I get the extra time you and I need to hook up , hang out, throw a few back, and go shopping for 67-72 parts at all the local yards.ak-1970-360 wrote:personly i dont like that lwb step side. i love my lwb styleside. but i need a bed for it. it has a home made flat bed on it now and i just dont like it. anyone know how to get a good bed?

I like long bed stepsides alot....a whole lot. Long steps function very well. My beater is a long step D-100, it ain't no Ford, but the body style works for work. They are a little ugly for fun though.
..But I like 'em ugly!

Thats actually who bought most of them around here, and IIRC most of them had at least one spare tire mounted on the side of the bed.
That red 4x4 actually doesn't look bad at all, sitting higher with somewhat larger tires helps it quite a bit.
EDIT: you know now tha tI look at it the Yellow one is even longer than the others, look how far it is from the rear of the fender to the bumper.

The yellow one is actually the only pic I have of the very rare (?) 9-1/2' box, as opposed to the standard 8-ft box of the others.

Call Dick Holdt in Talkeetna, he probably has one.ak-1970-360 wrote:personly i dont like that lwb step side. i love my lwb styleside. but i need a bed for it. it has a home made flat bed on it now and i just dont like it. anyone know how to get a good bed?
Those long stepsides are so ugly they are cool, if that makes sense. I know where a perfect one is that is made into a trailer, setting behind a snowcone shop that is always closed. Someday I will catch a human around there. I also spotted a whole pickup with one and have stoped a couple times and even left a message in the mailbox but have never actually got to talk to the owner. I want one because I have the full length side tool boxes you put on in place of the fenders.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.
