does anyone know if there are any c6 differences...i just got a c6 but thats all that the previous owner new about it...he did mention that it was rebuild already so its ready to go..
also..what do you guys recomend as a shifter....i was thinking of the hurst shifter...(promatic or v-matic shifter)...
anyways any other info that you guys can give me on the tranny would greatly appreciated...
Well, there are small block C6's--also 351 cleveland, then there are FE big block C6's then there are the 385 series big block/400 cleveland C6's. Some of the hd big block ap's used more clutchpacks, and different servo's and arms but most are about the same internally. Just make sure the bellhousing fits the engine family you are using!

There was also a switch from a srew in modulator to a plug in type held on with a clamp (like the distributor.) I don't remember what year Ford made the switch, though.
A C for a car has a slip yoke, while a C in a LB pickup has a bolt on yoke. The tailshaft will interchange, though.

A tag would be great, but with those numbers you got a few choices. RF means six cylinder / windsor bellhousing, D7UP-7006-AA means '77+ Bronco/Van C6. I think I got that right, going by memory.

"Yeah 220, 221, whatever it takes."
