Cab Mounts

Post by catheyjm »

I ordered 4 replacement cab mounts for a 1967 F-100. The LMC part includes a 3 and 3/4" bolt for the forward mount. This bolt appears to be too long as I replaced the old set with a new set today. T :hmm: here is way too much play in the new assembly. Anyone have an idea? Thanx!

You mean the rubber mounts, correct?
Yea, the supplied bolt is too long. Go to the hardware store and get a shorter grade '8' bolt.
Stinks that you have to replace a piece of hardware that should have been correct from the box.
Welcome to the site, by the way! :D

Thanks, Red! Looks like I can just get a 3" long Grade-8 bolt with nut; 3/8" diameter. Do you agree?

That should work.
By the way, Red Green is the name of a TV character. One of my favorites, though so I don't mind!

I like Black Tan....and what's FLYBOY? I'm an aviator...do you think the 3" bolt will eliminate the current play with the 3 and 3/4" bolt?

Cab mounts successfully installed. Combined forward and aft hardware from LMC Truck to make a solid connection. Will now order forward radiator support mounts. They look simple to install assuming old rusted bolts come out...
