No one ever done this? Guess I will fill you in on how it turns out.
I just wondered if the stuff has to be scraped off or if it can be blasted or what.....

re: Undercoating Removal Question
Face it, no matter what you do it's gonna get messy. In the past I've always just heated it up with a small torch to soften it up, and then scraped it off. Or you can use a wire wheel in the angle grinder. I've also heard that oven cleaner works well, but I haven't tried that yet.

I don't know about the undercoating, but I tried some oven cleaner on my oil pan I dropped. Inside and out, let me tell you that stuff cleaned it up nicely.
Removed the oil, the gunk, some of the paint that was flaking off. Put some cardboard down outside, sprayed it... left it for an hour, sprayed it again and rinsed it off.
Saved me a lot of time lemme tell you. Now I can take the scotch pads and the angle grinder to it to clean it up for new paint.
Don't worry, I drained all the oil out, as well as spraying the inside with purple power and rinsing so I didn't get any oil in the ground. Even poured the inside rinse water into some empty oil containers and recycled it at the AutoZone.
