F250 to F100, what do you think?
I need some professional opinions on this idea. I am going to have to reduce my collection to only one 67 and it will be my crewcab. After seeing some of the changes made to your trucks here, I am thinking of making it the way I want it. What I have wanted ever since I wrecked mine was another 3 speed on the column truck. What I am considering doing is converting my crewcab to an F100 complete with the 3 speed, 390 and 9 inch from my wrecked truck. I would like to add a factory overdrive to it in the process though. It will also get the disc brake conversion and fuel tank relocation in the process. I am also considering a full ragtop conversion ala the old VW Beetles. There will be more, but this is the plan to get started. I will retain all parts to return it to a complete 3/4 ton when I need to.
What do you think?

I am almost finished. All I have to do is everything.
I already have most of what I need to do this. What is missing is a body shop near me that will still do real bodywork. Most shops now just do insurance repairs.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

re: F250 to F100, what do you think?
I will use the F250 frame since it is already the correct length for the crewcab, but will use the F100 i-beams(disc brake conversion) and 9 inch rearend. I want to get some of those new Ansen slots from American Racing to use on it.Don't know if the 3/4 ton suspension will work or if I will have to go with the 1/2 ton suspension also.

Trukcrazy, I don't see you have any major problems coming to mind.
Only 3, I see is rear u-bolts to hang your 9in. rear to the F250's springs
looks like one set or the other should work.
Rear u-joint hookup? I don't have a clue on this
Front axles should change out ok but what about connecting the drag link to the pitman arm? looks like one set or the other should work fine.

Not on my 67. I think that came in the second half of the bumpside years. Anyway, the purpose of the whole deal was to transform the truck into a psuedo 1/2 ton crewcab. I may use the 1/2 ton suspension to ease the ride as well. I plan to use the buckets I got from doc and locate a console from an XL to use with them for a factory looking XL truck. When I am home, I will see which direction it will go in.
