another option for you is Rust Bullet. I just bought some of it, and I know that sharkdance used it in his awesome build-up.

Thanks guys. I have been looking in autoparts stores, Home Depot and haven't spotted it yet. Guess if I want it I have to go the website. Also Keith mentioned using Red Devil LYE which is on my want to buy list and can't find that either.
P.S. Keith, this is a fantastic site and can't believe that guy sensoring you. This might be the only site on the web where you can meet people with the interests and dedicated answers to questions without all that advertisements hitting you in the face. Your professional dedication to the site is commended and hope you never get discouraged by fools like that guy thinking you are the competition. John

You might be able to make some calls and find some dealers locally, but your best bet is just to order it through the website, which is what I did. Shipping is fast, you'll have it within a 3-4 days.
...and thanks for the kudos. Don't worry....things like that don't discourage me, actually just the opposite.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

I have to add my .02 on the kudos to Keith. This is one of the best websites that I've ever used. Everyone here has been so helpful, and I hope that I can help someone else along the way as well.

You can probably find it at a local auto paint refinish supplier. Several of them around here keep a some of the more standard stuff.
To allow it spray adhesive to stick I'd probably mist it before it dries with some tie coat primer or other type of color, just something that doesn't dry quite so hard and slick.

I kinda think of it as a brush-on powdercoating, in a way.lazyj70 wrote:Yeah, Keith I don't know you but your site rocks. Thanks for your hard work.![]()

From http://www.por15.com/PRODUCTS/PRIMERPAI ... fault.aspx
POR-15® is a high-tech, high performance rust-preventive coating designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal surfaces. It dries to an incredible rock-hard, non-porous finish that won't chip, crack, or peel, and it prevents rust from recurring by protecting metal from further exposure to moisture.
Use POR-15® to coat rusty frames, floor pans, farm equipment, marine equipment, or even a heavily corroded battery tray.
POR-15® is sensitive to UV light (sun) and must be topcoated for prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Topcoating is not required for areas not exposed to sunlight.

re: POR 15
What about Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator? Is it any better/worse than POR-15 and/or Rust Bullet?

re: POR 15
Okay, this question goes out to all of you that have used the POR-15. I am thinking about using it on the bottome of the cab and bed and was wondering how good does it spread? how big of a area does a quart or gallon cover?

re: POR 15
A little goes a LONG way. With a quart you'll have more than enough to put several coats on the underside of the cab and box. Don't get a gallon, as I doubt you'd ever use half of that before it went bad....or you sealed the lid stuck to the can and can't get it off. ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator is basically the same thing as POR-15, except that it can be topcoated without using a special tiecoat primer. I've got a quart of that myself and will be using it on the bottom of my box when I get to that point pretty soon. It's also nice that you can get this in spray-cans, which is what I used on my inner fenderwells, just so I could try it out. I was happy with how it went on and how it looked afterwards. Also, I don't believe the Rust Encapsulator is sensitive to ultra-violet light like POR-15 is, so it won't fade out without a topcoat.
