Re: re: Western Mirrors
Do you go to many auctions in this area for parts or do you buy on line. I'am restoring a 72 long bed and seems all I have is rust. Don't know if its worth the trouble or just find another project truck. The engine rebuilt about a 6 mos before the original owner died (april 1999) and its been sitting since 99. Been driving around lately looking in backyards for trucks that have been sitting and the junkyards are full of chevy parts but only found a couple of fords and the parts I need are gone already. I'm not sure if I want to restore or stay with the pillar wink mirror I am using now. It's good to see someone else from Jersey on here, not many of us. I am up in the north west corner. Where are you?
P.S. Thanks for the welcome its a great site.

re: Western Mirrors
I was lucky enough to get a truck that was rust free. I found a '73, at Harrys u pull-it, that still had the whole front suspension with power disk brakes. I got everything for $75 bucks. The beams, spindles, rotors, booster and reservoir, and the proportioning valve. The only thing I didn't get, and didn't know I need until after I got home, was the tie rod ends. I'll get new ones out of a catalog for $15. Everything else I have gotten, so far, was from a catalog. Just interior and motor parts. Good body panels are hard to come by. I'm still hoping for that one great find where there is some good old Fords that I can ransack. Anyway good luck, and remember that the hunt is half the fun. Just think how you'll feel when you finally find that old truck with the pieces you need still on it!!! Oh-yea, Keep us posted with pics of your project. We love pics...
